All good things come in threes
For its third edition, Prothélan is producing a play in six languages. Universal and still relevant, the theme of women’s affirmation will be explored in English, German, Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese. The six sketches, taken from the classical and modern repertoires, deal with the theme in accordance with the language and culture to which they are related. The plot is built around the story of Elisa’s character, who was created from scratch to ensure a coherent staging. The theme is divided into a range of situations and emotions, from the struggle for political rights to a liberating revenge.
About ten musicians and singers will be accompanying the actors and be performing during the intermissions. Besides, the students of the Master’s Degree Audiovisual Translation at ITIRI are preparing the surtitles that will be projected for the audience during the performances. This multilingual theatre project is run and coordinated by Caroline Liégeois, a postgraduate student in language didactics, who was an actress in the first edition and then the director of the French part in the second edition.
