Kiosk

Creating a cultural space

With the upcoming creation of a cafeteria for the Languages Faculty, a project for a relaxation and cultural area is emerging. Designed to bring together students from different departments, this area would be managed by the associations of the Faculty of Languages. Thus, there would not only be the association Amicale LEA but also the associations of English, Portuguese and German speakers, respectively the Lamas, Chama and Treffpunkt. This space would include a book exchange box: a sort of hut where one can drop off, exchange and borrow newspapers, magazines and books in foreign languages or related to language studies. The associations would also have a stand where they would rotate for duty periods and occasional actions such as promoting their parties. This is an excellent way to make oneself known and to get to know one another, as well as fostering a feeling of being part of the same faculty!

Administrative canvassing

In order to achieve the creation of this “kiosk” in the cafeteria, the students in charge of the project will have to spearhead an argument for the benefits and the sustainability of the project. They will have to convince the authorities responsible for the new cafeteria, including the vice presidency, the users’ committee and the manager. After having approached craftsmen likely to build an original kiosk in harmony with the cafeteria, the students will have to build and defend a technical file and a budget. Furthermore, a commitment charter for the maintenance of this cultural area will have to be drafted.

A second life for the books

Partnerships with university libraries, including the libraries Langues, Portique and U2-U3, as well as bookstores, will be established. Thanks to them, books and magazines meant to be pulped will have a second life in the book exchange box.
